hopefully this monkey will get adequate care, housing and attention. but that is, IMO, very hard to do.

It's impossible to do with a single specimen.

If it requires a social group, then I wold class that as "adequate care"

What sort of marmoset is it?

And I can only echo those that have posted before me that they need to be kept in pairs or groups.

Is it not a common marmoset? I would like to apologise again as I have been todl I am out of order on this thread! I didn't mean to be so harsh but I am very passionate about this topic which is very emotive with the legislation changes and stuff recently - so Kitty, if I offended you I am sorry but I do stand by my opinion

IM SO GLAD SOMEONE SAID SOMETHING RATHER THAN JUST SAYING ITS CUTE!! THE OWNER IS 17 YEARS OLD ITS LIKE HAVING A CHILD AS LOVELY AS IT IS I PERSONALLY DO NOT BELEIVE SOMEONE OF SUCH A YOUNG AGE CAN GIVE IT THE CORRECT CARE REQUIREMENTS OR WILL KEEP IT FOR ITS HOLE LIFE. IM 22 AND I WOULDNT DREAM OF HAVING A MONKEY UNTIL I HAD MY OWN HOUSE WITH PLEANTY OF SPACE IN THE GARDEN AND COULD AT LEAST AFFORD 2 OR MORE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU MOVE FROM HOME AND HAVE TO SUPPORT YOURSELF WILL YOUR "BABY" STILL GET THE CARE HE NEEDS CORRECT FEEDING SPACE AND ATTENTION WILLL YOU ALWAYS BE ABLE TO AFFORD TO PAY FOR HIM VET COSTS ETC... ITS A BIG COMMITMENT TO MAKE AT SUCH A YOUNG AGE PRIMATES SHOULD BE KEPT WILD AND FREE OR AT THE WORST IN A ZOO WHERE THEY HAVE THE SPACE TO ROAM AND BE FREE NOT IN A PET CARRIER IN THE FRONT ROOOM OR A CAGE NOT EVEN BIG ENOUGH FOR A PARROT,

i AM SORRY IF I OFFEND ANYONE BUT I THINK IT IS VERY IRRESPOSIBLE OF THE PARENT TO LET THERE CHILD GET A MONKEY IT REALLY ISNT RIGHT

RANT OVER LET THE ABUSE BEGIN

I'm also with you Kylie. however the owner had to purchase this animal from somewhere so in my opinion it is the seller who has more to answer for than the owner.

Primates are not surrogate children.
