Sorry Shplooble but I totally disagree.

Primates need care yes - a rather complex level of care in some cases but they do not NEED human attentiona nd socialialisation.

This is a baby marmoset - what happens when Kenzie gets older and he is still living in the confines of Kitty's house? He won't be small and "cute" forever and as he grows, he will feel more and more confined within his environment and that is a shame IMO.

Like I have said previously - I know Kitty feels she is offering him everything she can - but if she would only listen to someone other than a money grabbing "here, have a lone primate" seller/breeder then she could offer him so much more which, in the long run, would see him being better standing to avoid physical and psychological problems that many singly kept primates face

I have stated both here and via PM that I meant no personal attack against Kitty in my posts - I have also apologised if that is how she felt I was reacting to her pictures.

My concern is that her little guy is not getting the stimuli and the interaction that he needs - even if she offers him 110% of everything she can give, he will always require more because a small primate free roaming her living room/house with only her and the young boy on her pictures NEEDS more than that and, in my personal opinion, should be respected more than that.
I couldnt agree with you more i wasnt pointing any fingers at anyone lol

Just saying a softer approach may be better as she may find she needs help down the line but wont dare ask incase she gets jumped lol

I was just thinking about the animal thats all as its the animal that will suffer if she has any problems and nowhere to turn to thats all

One might hope that the original seller might assist if things went wrong, however, l just do not see that happening.

Yeah it would be hoped but cant always count on people its the same with any animal some people are just interested in the cash and not the welfare of the animals

the thread started with photos of peoples pets/animals kitty didnt have to show anyone pics of him in the first place,no one judges anyone on any of the animals they keep, this is starting to get long winded now, everyone on this site could have a primate and not disclose it,in my opinion it has nothing to do with anyone what anyone keeps,if there are problems with anyones animals in the future its them that have to deal with it,and not the people ranting on and on and on about it.

nice response anne... nice ethic there.

so we sell to any tom dick and harry do we? because its the buyer who has to deal with anything in the future after all.. its their problem.. right? thats what you are saying?

so as a seller, who gives a toss about who buys your animal.. as its them who has to pick up the crap in the future?????

sod what the animal needs, or what it wants... we'll just hand them out to the first person who comes up with the money?

all i can say is thank god we vet our buyers..

just to add... by posting, you are contributing to keeping the "long winded" discussion going you know

firstly im not a seller or saying anything about sellers, but yous do advertise a pair of hornbills(with half bills) which is obviously manmade, also not close rung,no one answered my thread about that,i stated in my opinion it has nothing to do with anyone what anyone keeps, and who says he will suffer, who ever owns the animal is responsible for its keep, and she has stated she will get him a friend, and she does care for him,so whats the big problem

yeah yeah anne.. sorry, but you cannot take back what you said..

you clearly think that its the "buyers problem" and that the seller has no responsibilty for what they are selling. nuff said really on that score.

you are not a seller, no, but you do seem to be a potential buyer who does not give a crap who they get a monkey from.. as long as you have the money, and they have the aniamal right?

who says he will suffer.. umm.. how about people who are knowledgable about them?? or does their opinion count for jack also? and i ask people who keep them, not wannabes who think they can..

what have hornbills got to do with it anne? or is that just another chance for you to have a dig at tska..

now anne, how is a half bill on a hornbill "obviously man made"

what, now you are suggesting the owners cut their beaks off are you?

(christ you really do put yourself over well anne.. not..)

and yes i do know why they have half bills, but seeing as you are not interested in buying them, i see no reason what so ever why i should waste my time explaining that to someone like you.

as to the ringing, you did not make a thread about it. in fact you did not even make a post about it. once we have spoken to the owners we will be able to clarify to interested parties what the situation is.

i have checked your 33 posts made so far on this forum, and bar acusing someone of clipping their beaks, you do not mention them elsewhere. you do not actually ask anything at all in fact, all you do is accuse someone of clipping their bills...

now that is hardly a request for information is it anne.

ahh ok, so are you refering to where your partner asked, in a totally different thread incidently, whether exotic birds have to be close ringed?

Funny DWA question

in which case, rory did answer at the time.. albeit not fully, but it was hardly ignored, which is the way you are trying to make it come across..

honestly.. anyone would think you had an issue with us ann... gosh surely not...

still i guess at least you are more open about it, than some snidey posters who say one thing to your face, and another behind your backs... anyones ears burning yet??
