Oh come on Nerys,

the gloop did not smell that bad, it did not taste great, but appearance wise it was gloop!

And texture was like glue, apart from that, nothing wrong with it!

we do get some birds come through tska too...

i think the last ones we handled were a quad of penguins, and a pair of flamingos.. now those i must see if i can go and photograph actually, they would make some nice shoots i think..

these guys are hornbills, and yes, they do both have damaged bills, i did ask why, and cannot for the life of me remember what they said.. must have been having a blonde moment at the time!

the pics are not great.. but i was hid round the side of their shed, trying not to spook them.. spooking them was not fun, as they launched at my head each time.. not to attack me, just as i was in the way of where they wanted to go!

Lovely aniamals and I wish I had the chance to see all those without having to resort to wildlife parks and zoo's etc.

The Hornbill beaks remind me, somewhat, of the beaks I saw in rescue battery hens I had. Might it be they had their beaks 'cut' to prevent damage to the people who were dealing with them or other birds in a collection???
It doesn't look like normal damage. It definitely looks like 'man made' damage.
