wow thankyou Nerys beautiful animals
and look at their eyes so wise. They are stunning animals and i would give my hind teeth to be able to own them but i have neither the time, expertise, knowledge or room to be able to and it wouldnt be fair to them if i did. Juts a wee question, are they tame or are they kept as wild animals so to speak? |

and yes, i know.. i am hugely lucky to get to see animals like this...
we often visit clients to take pics, or pick up animals for onwards journeys, or even just for a cuppa on the way past.. and everyone is always so lovely, puts up with my bombardment of questions.. let me get up close and personal with their animals.. in many cases, allow me to go in with the animals (where suitable of course) there have been some real highlights yes... i'll never forget a client bringing out their young cheetah cub to say hello.. my god what a purr he had! and seeing the adult female eating up close after was amazing too... yes i am lucky, very lucky. i am lucky that i get to keep the things i do, i am lucky that i get on well with the things i keep.. and i am even more lucky that people will let me share even just a little of their pleasure in the animals they live and work with. funny to think i could be working at jersey zoo now if i had taken their offer last year.. just think what i would have worked with and seen then! being allowed into peoples collections is a huge priviladge, and to any of those who have done, and who read these boards (which admitidly 90% of your client base don't) than thank you muchly for letting me come visit and bug you some and ta for the endless cups of tea! for those who like to have a dig, and a poke and a snide remark.. and slag us off in pm's to each other.. then.. whatever.. you know.. you probably spend more time bitching about us than i do wiping my arse... you know you have made as many f**k ups as anyone else has.. pot kettle black.. glass houses and stones.. denial is not just a river in egypt... etc etc etc annnnnyway.. last few pics from this lot... a few "round the enclosure" type shots.. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() and a couple of birds from someones collection ![]() ![]() thanks for looking ![]() Nerys

they are kept as "wild" i guess, as opposed to pets... in that they have outdoor pens with lots of room, rather than being kept indoors.. of the ones shown here, some are tamer than others. i was able to go into the enclosures with all bar one group (one of the ring tailed groups) some of them were happy enough to come up and visit me, i never try and encroach on their space, but normally crouch, or lean against something round the outside of the space, and wait for them to approach me. i am careful not to stare too much at them, as many animals see that as a threat, or a sign you want to be dominent over them. the red fronted was very tame, in her group, she came and held the camera in fact lol, wanted to know what it was! the black and whites were busy telling me it was their space.. they would come near, then vocalise at me, telling me it was their space not mine! the white fronted was a lot shyer, and the ring tails varied from one to another, some more interested, some not. i did also meet a hand reared black and white, who is young enough to still be allowed in the house to meet guests and romp about, but will soon become more unpredicatble i am told, and not as trustworthy. i did also meet another 17yr old boy lemur.. who was adorable.. and laid there for hours whilst i tickled his tummy, bless him, he let me have a good look in his mouth, ears.. round his feet.. very interesting actually ![]() N

you brought the horn bills bills up... shit stirring no doubt. as said, the way your word your post could land you liable for deformation of character.. if you wish to insinuate that our clients have cut the bills off their birds, i suggest you do not do so on a public forum. kitty is keeping a marmoset in a less than ideal way. indoors and on its own... why should she defend that.. why not? could it be that there is not much to defend? the fact is that its the same way YOU want to keep one, so no wonder you are defending her corner.. you and kitty should move near each other, form the lonely marmosets bridage maybe.. the antis will love that when they get the ban on private primate keeping through that they are pushing for. tbh, when there are keepers like you and kitty about, who think its ok to keep primates of any size like that, i will, as said to rory, push on the same side as the antis. will i become an anti - its people like you who will push me there! no matter that a whole host of people have said its not right, and the animal will suffer.. you seem more interested in kittys welfare than that of the animal she is keeping.. well to most of the people on this board, we could not give a "monkeys" - scuse the pun - about kittys welfare.. the animals comes first. kitty has a choice, her marmoset does not. i am more interested in the rights of the creature with no choice.
