Interesting thread - cracking photos though. Lemurs are great, im glad alot of zoos are moving towards open plan lemur enclosures that are monitored to ensure no idiots run off with one. Did hear once that a ring tailed got a bit excited and jumped into an empty pushchair, much to the surprise of the woman pushing it.

As an ex parrot keeper/breeder for over 25 yrs I have to say rarely would anyone get to visit a private collection regardless of their business with the breeder.

My birds were kept on one site whilst any potential buyers were vetted at another with the birds taken to a parrot society show for collection. With large expensive Macaw's, cockatoos and cites listed animals you just don't take the risk of allowing anyone on site or even to know the address the birds were house at.

All Cockatoos are pungnacious I lost a wisdom tooth and have a scar on my toplip from a 40 yr old Moluccan male I'd had for yrs, who'd never been bred always been a house pet. They like routine he had his but during the breeding season they can become very unreliable, I was putting food in his bowl he wanted a cuddle NOW! In the blink of an eye he'd tipped his head extended his crest and bit whilst hanging upside down off his perch. His upper bill went into my mouth and split my wisdom tooth in half whilst 1 side of his lower bill just pushed against my skin splitting my lip and face like butter.

For me a broker is a better deal just for securities sake than going direct to a breeder. I don't mind viewing any potential animal with the breeder but am more than happy to accept there are many and varied reasons why folk use a broker rather than doing it themselves.
