We drove through a herd of them in the early hours of a June evening, driving back from Banff to Gairloch, around about Shieldaig. It was very misty and we came around a corner and they were all just standing there on the road. Gave us quite a shock! But like I said normally they're way up in the hills and you need the bins to spot them!

I've seen large herds in early hours of the morning whilst driving up to Ben Nevs to go snowboarding. Same as someone else said I came flying round a corner and was faced with shed loads of deer. Mainly female as it seemed the large stags were on their own.
