Default Best way to dispatch?

i've been keeping both snakes and rodents a long time and if possible i plan on bringing the two together and breeding my rodents to feed my snakes (which i intend on breeding soon also, hence the reason for more food at cheaper cost).

i would just like some info on whether there are particular rodents i should stick to (e.g. white mice only) and also the best way to dispatch the varying sizes of rodents and any special precuations that need to be taken for the benifit of both mice and snake.

i'm not at all apposed to killing animals for food (for me or my snakes) but do want the most humane and reliable way that will not cause undue suffering or cause damage to the carcass.

Also, is there any health problems that can occur in rodents which would mean they are unsuitable to then feed to a snake as do not want to pass anything onto them.

I use a custom C02 chamber but i do schedule 1 kill. By this it is a simple dislocation of the neck and instant death. C02 has recently been critised.

there are quite a lot of posts on this section about rodent killing if you look back.

rodent reapers, you need to pm kelly41 but she does not come on here a lot, and it may take a while for her to reply.

I use a 'priest' to do my killing a good hard smack with it and they're done.

No offence pal but this causes extreme momentary suffering to the animal. This is why i think private food breeding will be banned one day as people are causing un-due stress and suffering to the animal.

Why not try C02 (not perfect) or even schedule one dislocation.

I snap the necks of mine, quick and what I can only assume as painless.
