Default Breeding mice?

Hi all, i was just wondering if anyone could give me some advice as to how to start breeding my own mice. Never given it much thought before but my royal has decided, after not eating for ages, that he likes fresh pre killed mice not frozen ones. Tried evarything but ive come to the conclusion that im just going to have to breed my own as live ones are very difficult to come by. They always seem to be small as well and i have trouble getting him eat several in one go, i thought that if i bred my own i could let them get to a size more suitable for him.
So if anyone could start me off on the right track, (eg, what i need?, where to get it from?, how much room i need?), i would be very grateful.

breeding mice is quite easy, for caging you can use wire cages, or RUB but i use glass tanks, and proper mouse breeding tubs, size depends on how many mice, but for 1:3 a 2ft fish tank is brill. where to get them, ask on here plenty of people on here breed mice! me included.

I'd set up two enclosures...
One for breeding, and one for growing on. Females smell less and get on better, so when the babies are old enough to sex and weaned, I'd put the girls in the second tank to grow on (you can usually add youngsters into these groups later without any probs) until they were big enough for the royal. Any males can be fed at weaning to some of your other creatures! Then you only have to deal with the smell from one male mouse.
Make sure whatever you use has plenty of ventilation - it keeps the smell down, and the mice healthier.

Thanks for the tips, going to research this thoroughly. A few more questions: i plan on keeping them in the garage (i cant stand the smell of mice), will they need much heating?, also can i grow on a group of males and keep them together? unfortunately my awkward royal likes the smelly ones!

Males should be ok until they're about 3 months old, but you won't be able to add younger ones into a growing-on group of males.
If you insulate the garage well that you won't need much heating, an oil radiator on low will do the trick. You mustn't let them get too cold though as they stop breeding!
