You can be be aware of size because the exo-skeleton is chitin and can cause impactions.

As for culturing them, put a slice of bread in with mealworms and leave them for a few weeks.

When they are beetles place a bit of material between sheets of loose newspaper and they will lay their eggs on that, its easer that crix or locust

I'm not 100% but i read that they were inedible for leos... I also read if they try and eat them they can sometimes cause problems? But as i say i don't know...
