Ther're officially not rats or mice, so care is differant to either of those... I gave mine mealworms every other week or so, mainly because they'd just eat all I gave them and I couldn't afford it!
I mixed cereal in with everything else that made up the standard food - in a big plastic bin.
cool, I was worried when I saw 3 every other week as I gave them loads as my gecks didnt want them I gave them some of those big fat things that look like those bugs from Im a celebraty, although I am a little worries that if they are around the same size as a baby multi they might have associated them with food and made them eat their young that way

what greens do you offer??

Thanks
Sam

Dandelion leaves mainly - just because they're in the garden and free!
I wouldn't worry too much about them associating something big with the babies, they know the differance (I did worry a bit when I gave my Opossum a pinkie to eat when she had babies of her own, but she knew what was what!)

I mix my own foods for the rodents.
I use rabbit mix, dog/cat dry food, wild bird food, breakie cereal and pasta/noodles. Among other things.

I feed my multi's an amount of fresh veg every day. It seems to get them breeding well. I tested this by witholding veg from one tub and they ate their litter. When veg was returned they brought up their litters. They had had a litter prior to me stopping the veg.

I keep a 1.2 or 1.3 in an 18ltr RUB. So you dont' need a huge container for them.

I would assume that sunflower seeds affect lactation in multi's the same as in fancy mice so I don't give sunflower seeds to any rodents.

Although mice and rats have eaten their first litters I've not had multi's do it. When I've handled the doe, and she's given birth straight away, she has eaten the litter on that ocassion as well.
I clean out when she looks big and then leave the tub until a week after babies are born. I handle babies from birth with no cannibalism.

I find multi's more resilient to handling and less likely to cannibalise their litters than either mice or rats.

Yay - 4 (looks like 4 anyway) healthy little pups - not eaten yet so fingers crossed they will stay alive long enough to become snake food
