Default Difference between feeding blacks and browns?

Whats the difference between feeding black and brown crickets? Is it just personal preference or is there more to it?

Blacks tend to be larger and stay on the ground more; browns tend to be slimmer and jump a lot more.

Some lizards prefer a slightly slower cricket that will just follow the edges of the cage around (the blacks), whereas some prefer there to be loads of activity and jumping and will go after the browns with more enthusiasm.

If they're properly gut loaded and are the right size for the lizard, there isn't much difference between them. Both are just as cannibalistic, both can occasionally bite you or a lizard, both make noise as adults - even the ones marketed as "silent"...

I think Blacks are a bit nastier, more likely to bite your lizard.
but then again they shouldn't be in there that long anyway right?
I guess it is just personal preferance.
I go with a mix of waxxies and brown crickets

i feed blacks because they are easier to catch, i loose alot more browns as they just jump for it . blacks dont half make a noise when adult size tho

i've read somewhere that black crickets are sun lovers and will come out in the day to catch some rays making it easier for your rep to catch them unlike browns who hide and come out when dark!

I use blacks because I find them easier to catch. Have used and bred brown in the past. I also use locusts.

Mantis, Spiders and Scorpions get the locusts and my frog gets the crickets. I gutload and dust.

I find blacks much nastier and more ready to bite your animal. Browns are faster though. Especially if you keep them warm whilst gut loading them.
