Default Morio's

Just wondering are they normal meal worms with steroids added? Also if you breed them will they breed as morios or normals? May sound stupid but ive only just thought of it :P

Morios are a different sp. I have managed to get them to pupate but it takes a fair while. I also included some rotten wood in their bin. They seem to like a slightly higher humidity then ordinary mealies.

they are both a sub- species of meal worm. But they are still meal worms, if you know what i mean. They are not normal meal worms on steriods. When you come to breed them, they will be the same as the morios despite being only a few mm big... Hope that helps...

Girlfriend bought me mealworms and I took one look at them and was like WTF? Massive. Way too big for a baby beardie and a leo.

They are two very different species, with quite different habits.

There are sometimes mealworms grown large with hormones, though im not sure on the details
