Default Advice on Breeding locusts

Considering starting to breed locusts does anybody have any tips or advice. Have scanned the net and there is limited information available!

Thanks, will

I used to work in a lab where we produced 100's of locusts.
Firstly they need to be warm, or I would say hot !
We had them in a steel cage with a glass front that would be about 12 to 15 inches wide, maybe 15 to 18 inches front to back and at least 18 inches high. The glass was for viewing but also slide up to provide access.
The only heat was a standard bulb which was on 24 a day.
Think the bulb was 60 watt but this is about 30 year ago.
There was a false perforated floor with 4 big holes in it.
The waste used to go through the floor.
The 4 bigger holes had jars of sand in. The locusts used these to lay eggs.
The sand jars were removed each week and fresh one put in.
The older jars went to the hatchery.
The locusts were fed on grass daily and had no water.
Hope this helps
Stephen.

In adults, males are more yellow and females are a sandy color.
Females are larger, at least in the strain we had.
