The gutloader i use for my mealworms and crickets comes with a capsule inside. I never knew what it was for so just chucked it away, but today i noticed a paragraph i hadn't seen before telling me it was a D3 capsule that can be added to increase the amount in the gutloader, to be used for dinural desert reptiles (ie my beardie), breeding females etc
The thing is that the bugs i use also feed a leopard gecko. Is there any risk to my leo to have extra D3 in his bugs? Will my beardie suffer from not having the extra D3 (he has the necessary lighting)? Thanks |

leos can overdose on d3 - probably not the best idea as theres limited evidence to whether they actually need it or not. Do you dust with nutrobal or anything? as this contains just about the right ratio/amount of d3 for leos. I'm not sure about your beardie as I've never had them but I hope this leo info helps. xx

If leos may be able to overdose then i'll leave it out.
Yeh i dust frequently. I've haven't had any issues with MBD or symptoms of it with either my leo or my new beardie so i'll leave things as they are, was just making sure Thanks ![]() |
