Default wax worms

getting some waxies amongst other things, and just wondered do i need a high container like a jar, or could i use something like a faunarium

you mean to keep them in until being fed to your animals??
I always buy them in cricket tubs and thats where they stay until I give them to my leos, you can keep them in the fridge to stop them from becoming a coccoon. Or at least slow the proces down. If you dont some will be coccoons within days which are not eatable.

I think Dartfrog - Everything for the Amphibian Keeper do a culturing kit which is what you need to breed them. I don't know though, try googling it?

i have a rough idea of what to do now, but any tips are appreciated as im still getting mixed instructions.

No need for a culturing kit....

heat some honey (say a half a jar) in a small saucepan

mash up some weetabix (or cheap substitute) and stir it in until the honey is all absorbed and the mixture is sticky but crumbly... the consistency isnt overly important but think cheesecake base.

allow to cool and you have your medium.

put it in an airtight container, add some waxworms, put it somewhere warm and let fresh air in every week or so (depending on the volume of the container).
