Yeah,i read that too,i just wish i took photos at the time.But they did actually spawn in my tank!

I wouldn't be keen on mixing salt with them, especially to the extent the archers would need.

Spawning is 1 thing, breeding with successful young is another.

Is it just reed/rope fish your after? I've got a delhizi and two palmas in a 4ft they are amazing, but be so sure no holes I was woken when the delhizi had jumped from tank across a gap of about a foot to a chair, back in the tank he's fine but reeds are even thinner. I think if they ever used the land part it would be by mistake. I've seen them for £10 in quite a few places round me in kent, ark aquatics in canterbury has a few poly's in usually.

I was mainly interested in reedfish over bichirs cos they're social

and also, i would have expected to pay more tha £7 for them so that bodes well

I would love to get em to breed though, it sounds interesting... i wonder if the young have branched external gills like young bichirs
