Default toropicl

There is this shop near where i livethat sells realy cool tropical fish such as puffers and stufff i've had fish before but never tropical ones i like the idea of something lke sea horses or a ray fish (so cool) or mabey a puffer i just want to know a good starter for tropical fish and cost of the set up and how difficult up keep is you know infomation

I think your confusing 'tropical' with 'marine'.

'Tropical' just refers to the temperature of the water. Goldfish and native sea fish here in england are 'cold water' (or 'temperate'). Tropical freshwater fish in shops are tropical.

'Marine' is sea water, and is, I think, what you are talking about. Those fish are tropical marine fish, and are harder to keep than goldfish or freshwater tropical. I wouldn't recommend diving into it, without doing lots of research.

Then, if you do decide to go for it, you cant really keep any of those fish you mention: sea horses = too finicky for a first time keeper; rays = too large, by far, and hard; puffers = too big normally. Some of the smaller ones you might get away with.

Have a read on the internet about setting up a marine tank, and see what you think.
