Nice one! I bet if we took a survey of the beginners first tanks, regardless of what fish they thought they were getting, they would be mostly smaller than that eh??

But yes, it is possible... just need to make sure they have the right tank to begin with.

bigger tank, more stable, more selection, likely not to need to upgrade. Its a lot better than a small tank.

Only problem is the extra cost

I do agree with that, however i think most people would be sensible enough to not jump into fishkeeping with massive tanks, and then find out 2 weeks later that they find it incredibly boring.

Yeh, I think thats kinda what me and esfa were getting at, at least it is what I am. Plus the effort of cleaning (in terms of water changes and things).

I dont think I would personally go ahead and recommend a first time fishkeeper gets a 7*2*2, although, of course, it can be done.

The majority of fishkeepers from my experience start off with a 2ft tank, and very quickly upgrade to bigger tanks once they get into it. I think that if you have a large enough tank, and get the filters matured, then there is no reason not to go for a mbu puffer fairly early on.

i would recommend anyone starting out to get the biggest tank they have space for and can afford.

Oh and not arguing but certain people seem to be causing arguments for fun

Oh yeh, definitely. We all think that I think. I really was just thinking the OP might not be pleased if they got a 7*2*2, and then decided the Mbu was boring! haha
