Default An update on our 5 gallon Nano

Cant remember who it was now but someone wanted an update when we had some corals in, sorry for the late reply they have been in around 6 months or so now and *fingers crossed*(i always hate tempting fate) we havnt had a scrap of trouble with it.

Its been running just over 9 months in total.

Didn't know you had one of these Pam! Very nice tank! Looking good.

What filter and skimmer has it got on it? What volume is it? Looks stunning.

Wave Box nano Tanks STM - UK

Its one of these, 5 Gallons, we doubled the hang on filter, trippled the lighting (including blue) and doubled the power heads for flow.
It doesnt have a skimmer and doesnt need it TBH.
Great fun tank to cut your teeth on.

my friend had one of those and i had to help him... he didn't keep any inverts except a chocolate chip star.... it did well but i put a power head with a sponge filter(aquaclear) and a sand filter... it worked fine for a couple small fish.

In such a small tank how do you make sure that the corals don't take over? things like Xenia - grows like wild fire, what do you do to keep it down? Maybe a silly question with an obvious answer, but the stuff we had at work went ballistic in our 6' display tank!

havnt really got that problem as of yet with it being relativly new, the green star polyps in one of the pictures is actually an off shoot of a main mother colony we have which does however spread like wild fire, we we separated it off and shall be going to a new home next month.

We will also be setting up a new larger marine in the next month so if anything else takes over we can frag them and move them over.

not bad, most people start with the easier to keep bigger tanks, keep it up, a nice 8*3*3 reef could be just what ya need
