Default New tank for the Puddle the leccy eel.

Some may of seen my other thread introducing Sir Puddles. Well here he is again....

And here's what his new tank was looking like for a while...

then finally this bit arrived..

and so then it was complete, looking a little like this-

Then I glued in the acrylic skin, let it cure then filled it up to rest the system.

And boy does it run quietly , can barely hear it running.

So today was the shift about day which went something like this....

Water was drained from his current tank to the new tank to match temp, ph etc.

ready to move...

swim my pretty.... Swim!

so it all turned out rather well....

and the eel in question...

Next thing to do is shift the rest of the fish around so everything gets a bigger tank!

Is it actually an electric eel? How big do they grow?

Nice setup, how big?

Yep he's the real deal...as is the other one i have....

They can grow up to 8ft but it seem after a few emails 5ft seems more realistic which is the size the ones at public aquariums have grown to.

The tanks 60 long, 32 wide and 24 tall.

thats a cool aquarium!
i love these eels with a passion, allways have done.
i went 2 the sealife senter in birmingham at easter and spent about half an hour just staring at the huuuge one they have there, although theirs really could do with a new tank...

but your guy is so lovely

8ft?! that tank is far too small for an 8ft fish, he needs a tank of at least 10,000 gallons!!
