Default Channa sp. and Periophthalmus barbarus

Having a search through the forums now for old threads but just putting out some feelers for any new info.

Anyone here keep Snakeheads or Mudskippers? Been looking into setting up something for one or the other when I finally move out into "the new house" but would love to see other people's setups and opinions on them.

The ban actually went through? I feel so out of the loop, I thought only Channa argus was banned? I know there was a lot of hoohah about the Snakehead that was caught by an angler [supposedly]. Looks like I shall have to move quicker than I thought. Wasn't it just a ban on imports though?

Aye, when I first started researching them my aquatics lecturer thought I was mad, just love them, even when the grow up, dull out and prove that they're insatiable eating machines. Well ... I fell in love with the one I saw, and then the ones I looked at as I researched

edit: I'm slow. Thought that was the case, been looking it up and saw a few people were trying to get breeding pairs/groups going to try and keep Snakeheads in the hobby. So I may have to cross out Channa if I can't get everything set up relatively soon then XD

Yeah i think it's only illegal to import them.

did you see the snakehead programme the other night?

"Growing upto 3ft long, these monsters will eat anything in front of them... then jump out of the water and eat you!"

What a load of bull. They're getting keen on scaremongering about these "deadly, ferocious frankenfish" aren't they. How fabulous, soon they'll march into any homes near a water source and devour resident children/small dogs.
