Default new 10 gallon for betta!

Alright! thanks to alot of help on this forum, and ultimatebetta.com, i finally got my tank setup and cycling!!! i wanted to hide all the nasty looking pumps/filter/hoses/heaters behide my foam background and have a nice clean looking tank! i picked up a fluval 1 plus submersible filter, and a fluval 50 watt heater. i was going to divide it and get two males, but it looks pretty nice so, imma leave it the way it is!

hopefully by next week I'll have my anubias. cant wait to get the HM in there! let e know waht you think!

Looking good,

won't the polly background insulate the heater though?

or does the filter sort that out?

Ya, i got the wood all ready, but the store just didnt have any anub in stock...

i have a rinky dink termometer right by the filter, and its reading the proper temp. so i guess if the water by the filter is warm it'll move it to the front and warm the rest up, but I'll just keep an eye on it for a little while. i might have to move it closer to the filter though.

Whats that background your using? it goes really well with the dark gravel, should bring out the fish/plants colors nicely.

its marina's 'tree bark' poly background. works great, i didnt wanna silicone it in place yet, and i forgot how much poly likes to float in water

it was only like 15$ can. and was probly big enough to fit most 20 gallons, i hade to cut it down alot!

That would look nicer with out the divide. How ever we all know that you can't house two males together with out having problems.Or can you ?? there not the same speices as the FIGHTER betta but they do look the same. They are called peaceful/social bettas-(BETTA IMBELLIS) you can house males & females all together in any number like 3males & 6females'etc.Why not try and find some of these.I have seen some in the UK before so they are here.

Socials are even being hybridized with fighters to make more colourful frendly take fish.So some day we my beable to have more colourful males that can be housed together much like male guppies.Wouldn't that be nice .

Betta imbellis wild caught males & female.

Here some males after a couple on generations in captivity.

so after alot of background floating in water issues () i got this little tank back up and cycling again (finally) got my drift wood and anubias in there too!!! I want another plant or two in the back right corner. any suggestions for a tall grass like plant that does well in low light?

Ive got my anubias tied to the wood with some white twine. will this be ok? I didnt quite know how to possition the plant lol, so, did I do it correctly enough??

also one more question! a little tiny snail has hitchhiking on the plant, how should i care for him?? algea wafers? will he survive the cycling proccess?? theres no way i could ever identify him or get a clear pciture, hes way to small! lol he seems fine cruising around the tank right now.

thanks again!
