high nitrates, high phosphate, too much light. Main causes are usually too much light and over feeding

yup, i think the things mike said are being done alot, light is usualy 24/7, but am getting a plug in timer to turn of after 10-14 hours, and my mum also feeds them, as she thinks the don't get enough, but they do, and then i feel guilty for underfeeding them...when i am not. lol
Have also rea aranged my tank, so they aint as many rocks, as i went ott before, i have like a brown tuffa rock, a couple, and a big piece, so all the scaredy cat fish are ok know, and the big fish are well, the pink has its space, and the other two just swim around, beecause there is alot of open space now! also looks absulutly great!and clean, now algae in the tank, except the odd cm or so, on the back.

you already know how the are caused lol. So im gonna give you some solutions:
1) water snails... but they eat plants too 2) plecs, other suckers... but they eat plants to, and some plecs can get VERY large 3) glass scraper... only cleans the glass thats about it. haha... i wouldnt suggest using chemicles for algea... i dont think it is worth the risk. |

plecos cause more problems than they solve. The majority of people do not have a tank big enough for a pleco.
Snails would be killed in a malawi tank, so thats not gonna work. But yeah the algae scraper is all good lol.
