Default Platty Fry

Our Platties have just has 65 babies which we have in a breeding net. They are a month old now, just wondering how old they have to be before we can put them in with the adult fish.

Hey, tbh it depends on what other fish you have in your main tank. The other day i saw one of my platy fry was stuck in my breeding net (containing balloon molly fry) and i let it free. It started slowly swimming to the bottem of the tank when my Colombian red tailed tetra gobbled it up with one bite! I think your best off making your own jugdement or you coud be a little bit cruel and send one out on its own!
HTH, Callum

yea it really depends on how big they are, just wait till you hink they are too big too be eaten by the other fish and just put a few in, if they get eaten then you know they are too small and just fatten them up a bit.

anytime you think they'll be ok, at least big enough so they can't be eaten whole and then they are usually fine

my dad had the problem when i we used to breed tropicals, we used to breed platties, guppies, mollys and swordtails and the adults always used to suck the babes out of the holes in the floating plastic tub. so we got a completely seperate tank for em and usually kept them in there for 6 months.
