when they lack iron you get those thin pale leaves. those trace elements are overlooked sometimes. i use flora pride as a general fetilizer twice a month. my wisteria is going mad!. i constantly have to prune. i hate throwing away perfectly good plants because of no room! i got a jungle. also indirect sunlight is really good but most shops try to tell you not to put a tank near a wndow. the more higher plants though, the better the out competition of algae. i love my tank. i might set up my old saltwater. a freind wants to give me his fish!! i'm temped, a few $$ fish for free!

lol, never look a gift horse in the mouth mate
and also, nitrate is good for plant growth, but an excess will cause an algae bloom

that's the great thing about planted tanks, the nitrates aren't such a big deal. i've converted so many customers to plants in the past. everybodies afraid of them for some reason. i used to give free plants to my customers to get them hooked. it worked everytime. for every free plant i gave away, i'd sell a half dozen or more to them later on. that's one of the things i don't like about saltwater, no plants. oh, ive kept calerpa but it's not the same. but with plants in a tank you have both a fish habitat and a garden!

the denernle (i think thats how its spelt) is good, a little more expensive than some of the other stuff, but is easily the best on the market
