Question Shrimp...

I'm always adding to my aquarium and I'm thinking about investing in some shrimp... Can anyone help out here because I don't know what they can be housed with or anything...? (The staff at my local pet shop talk in like this kind of code which goes along the lines of "well, it's like anything - just chuck a bit of food in every now and then..."... Nice!!!)

Red face

Now I'm going to sound really stupid - they're little pink ones!!!!!!!
Seriously, they're just labelled as "shrimp" in the pet store and they're kept at about 80F. I haven't been able to find the exact ones in google searches because I can't get close enough up to them in the shop to see exactly what they look like because the place is always such a mess of boxes and tanks...
They're £3 each if price is anything to go by...

Talking

I've found Cherry Shrimp on a search and it's not them.
Found this picture and tis looks a bit like them except the ones in the shop look a bit pinker but kind of a see-through pink...
There was no description with this pic - just "shrimp"!!!

They probably do not know themselves.

they priobably came from a wholesale as "shrimp"

It would help to know what size the tank is and what is already in there.

I used to keep shrimp and they would just eat the catfish pellets I would put in. They are quite cool.
Used to live in there with all my other fish in harmony.

they can be housed with smaller fish that will not think there food, i.e. large cats, sharks, rays etc.

does sound like cherry shrimp, the females have a lot more colour than males you can keep them with small fish or in the tank on their own, they breed well with the females carrying eggs then giving birth to live shrimplets, they feed on hikari crab cuisine, algee wafers, catfish pellets, jmc high protein granules to name a few,
