I used to have a tropical fish tank set-up in my room, it was a communal group; Tetras, Guppies etc. but I stopped with it all a couple of years ago. I didn't sell the equipment and have decided to start it up again but I thought I'd get a group of Angelfish going with the hope of maybe breeding.

I just wondered if there are any other fish that mix well with Angelfish when they're in a group?

any fish that are non agressive as angelfish are peacefull

And that won't fit in their mouth when the angels fully grown. They will eat small tetras etc.

as there a south american cichlid I keep them in with my south american cichlids (Dwarfs and small cichlids) stuff like bolivian rams firemouths keyholes

And you've never had any problems with them? I keep reading a lot of different things accross the internet, so thought coming on here and asking specifcally myself would be easier.

Used to have a couple of Bolivian Rams in my old tank and really liked them.

Also, the tank is 32" (L) x 16" (H) x 14" (D) which is around 115 litres, would a group of 5-6 Angelfish be alright in that? If so, how much space does it leave for other fish to go in as well?

Angels can get quite big and territorial when they pair up they like any cichlid become very agressive so you may struggle in a smaller tank. I have mine in a 5ft tank so theres plenty of room for them to all have there territory

Sorry that kind of came out wrong they become aggresive when another comes into there territory not just randomly aggresive like the african cichlids

You can buy a small group of youngsters and grow them on. They'll eventually pair off and then the fun happens. A pair of small dwarf cichlids may work if you aquascape the tank correctly. You want one of the more peaceful south american dwarfs. Nannacara species etc. You'll need to keep your eye on things if any spawn though.

Avoid other cichlids, especially central americans like firemouths, convicts etc.

Yeah that was my plan to grow them on from youngsters, I remember always wanting to get an Angelfish in my old set-up but couldn't because it just wouldn't go in well with the other fish I had in there so when I came round to starting it up again I thought a group of them might be quite good.

Having other fish in there with them isn't a neccesity for me, just I thought it may be nice to have a bit of variance in there. What about bottom dwellers in there with them? Or when it came to spawning would they be a problem?

I do really like the idea of putting a couple of Bolivian Rams in there with them, is there any likelihood of problems occuring? As if there's any real risk I may just stick to the Angels.
