I was thinking(May be totally stupid but here we go...), we have to keep our aquariums perfectly clean but how do fish survive in the wild? As im sure not everywhere they live will be perfect conditions... Or do they only survive because the conditions are that perfect?

1. We don't keep our aquariums perfectly clean, far from it
2. The body of water they live in is MUCH MUCH larger in the wild
3. They automatically are born where conditions are best.. as that's where the parents will breed.
4. Millions and millions of fish die all the time in the wild, all the time. They live much longer in captivity than in the wild.

Research the "nitrogen cycle" and all will be revealed.

In the rivers they constinuously have the water changed and I think are generally less crowded.

much less water in a fish tank so the waste builds up much more quick than it would in a lake, not to mention if the water conditions was not ideal in the lake the fish could swim to a different part of the lake maybe have miles and miles of water to pick a perfect place, In a fish tank only a few feet in length the fish is trapped no matter how bad conditions get

What about pools of water in east africa that dry up in the dry season, resulting in all fish being killed until the next season? Think Nothobranchius killifish....

They don't really exist, it's all a myth. Fish can just swim to another place in the lake, where water is different ()
