Default sun shine plec

hi guys
I got a good size sunshine plec for my discus tank and they seem to be getting on great. However he appears to be digging a hole to australia and the sand is in heap making my tank look messy. if I flatten it will the plec dig it up again.

Whats a sunshine plec? Is it a pterygoplichthys gibbiceps? they get quite big you know.

You could try giving him some sort of a house like a plant pot or something. That way he might not feel the urge to try and dig his own hideout.

Larger plecs do. Add some bogwood or even clay piping as a hiding place as this will help. Remember it's his tank he'll do his own bit of interior design. Give him more to work with and you have more chance of it meeting your approval.

At the moment his five inches long so got a way to go before full grown and the tank up grades in the pipe line for next year . His turn over a hugh piece of bog long and under there his built his cave I was thinking of getting one of fish cave do u think he'll like it. It funny really I can't wait to get up every morning at the mo to see what his done this time. This morning I found him stuck to the front of the tank so got a really good pic of his belly. He was called custard but think I'll call him havic instead.
