Default Mould on wood?

This post is for a friend:

Hey, my friend has been busy setting up her tank, however when she came to install the wood she found that it contained a mould like substance. After trying to scrub it with no success, she proceeded to boil it in a salty solution for an hour and a half, and then went on to boil it for an extra 30 minutes in fresh water.

The mould is still there, and so she was wondering if there is anything else that can be done? Like baking for instance?

Thanks.
Call

What sort of wood is it? Mopani? It's probably just curing. If its been boiled, there is no need to worry. Stick it in the tank, it iwll soon disappear.

If you want, get some snails. They love it.

Have the same issue with a particular bit of mine, toothbrush scrubbing worked but it seems the wood was rotting so i removed it.

Was in with a turt of mine, would have tried the snail technique but alas, turt would have munched it anyway.
