Default Ecosphere

You may have already seen it but just saw these Ecosphere aquariums online.

What are your option on them? they sound cool to me, just wondering if they will fill up with algae and the shrimps die.

Check them out... Ecosphere Closed Ecosystem, Self Contained Aquarium

OMG!! That's horrible!

"Inside each EcoSphere are active micro-organisms, bright red shrimp and algae, each existing in filtered sea water." And then the picture is of a cherry shrimp, which is very much a freshwater shrimp.

"Reproduction of shrimp does occur in some systems, but this is uncommon. The shrimp that are in the EcoSphere have purposely been chosen because they do not reproduce excessively; the environment cannot support too many shrimp." Cherry shrimo are extremely easy to breed....

This is complete nonsence. The ammonia build up will kill the shrimp...no argument. This is a money making scam.

This sort of thing should be illegal.

EVERYTHING is wrong with this.... the shrimp will NOT survive on the algae alone... what if one of the shrimps die?! How will you get it out?
