Default Ideas

Right so the extension on my indoor pond goes ahead as of tuesday. will be 24x12x4 (feet). Decided to knock out the old filter (6x6x3 hence the extra 6 feet in length). plus an extra foot in height just for fun lol. so going from 18x6x3 to 24x12x4. plus a 8x4x4 filter tank. Basically gonna be awesome lol.

will be kitted up with lots of bogwood for my cichlids to hide in, 5 massive amazon swords (one spans about 4 foot across) and some caves etc. Basically its an amazon replica attempt.

anywho the fish will be:
4 Giant Gouramis (not americans but oh well not bothered on that)
8 peacock bass
6-12 leporinius of some kind, probably fasciatus
12 leopoldii stingray
6 plecos (common and gibbies)
8 Channa Bleheri
1.1 marmorata pikes
1.1 johannii pikes
1.1 hericthys carpinte

do you reckon I could go for anything else. Not cichlids. and big, the obvious neons etc will not be going anywhere near this tank lol. I wasn't planning on putting anything else in but if a good idea comes up then who knows. I would like a nice 5-6 inch shoaling fish, ideally QUICK and lower tank dwelling to avoid the cichla

no more birchirs lol. I've got enough.

as for the stinger pics, not yet. They weren't packed properly and were pretty pissy when i opened the boxes, so there was no chance to photo them before they went into the holding vat. At the moment, the gouramis and rays are in a holding vat. its a big septic tank (obviously new) with 5 rena XP4s. The others are in tanks. Hopefully the construction should be finished on thursday. Then I'm pond painting it, then fibreglass, then spray on liner. Then 1mm thick Rubber pond liner. No leaks this time. The once all thats dry, the acrillic viewing windows will be installed. They was delivered on friday and weighs loads. 1 inch thick. 2 of them both 6x2.5 feet. So will be spaced, so 4 foot of solid wall, then window then 4 foot, then window then 4 foot. Hopefully should have some water in there in 2/3 weeks time. fill up 1 foot at a time over 8 days, making sure the plumbing is all watertight. Then a week after its been filled gonna put the pikes and snakeheads in. then the carpinte, and plecos. then the leporinius. then 6 rays, then the gourami and finally the last 6 rays.

Got a spare holding tank filled with ceramic rings and foams, running on the ray holding tank and the bass tank. So should be maturing. then that will be running on the actual pond for 4 months. then pulled off. So should keep the whole thing running smoothly.
