Red face confused guppie.....

my male guppie keeps on trying to mate with my female dalmation mollie .......has this happened to anyone else???

live bearers will breed with each other. But don't do let it happen. If they do have babies, do not give any away, or breed from them.

Guppies and mollies are very,very closely related and do often hybrid.The interesting this is they hybrid offspring look very much like mollies use to look before they was influlance by man with selective breeding.

Yeh, basically what the other two people said. They can interbreed, dont sell the babies.

i wouldnt sell the babbies id keep em..........just thought its a bit strange..lol

My male guppies often seem to be mating with tank orniments and have a go on my sharks also.

hahahah nice and nope my fish dies a year back came back fomr holiday after mate looked after them and 5 of them were dead,
