Aah! I see...it's a good idea in principal but then the damage would've been done as us nosey bastards wouldn't know the full story and may wrongly judge as we've not seen the full picture.

Much better to show the full story so people won't get ripped off, etc...

Then again, it really shouldn't be brought to public airing, should be kept private from the outset..by email, PM, etc.

as much as i agree with that i'm going to disagree just cos i like arguments! Although quite a few seem to include the words 'not responding to...........'

I see what you're saying but everyone would need to know the outcome as only the "chosen few" would know the full story so people could still get ripped off, so to speak...

There seems to be an increasing number or topics being locked where somebody has accused somebody of something and an argument has broken out and other people have chipped their beaks in. Once the person accused of something posts the thread will often get locked as both sides of the argument has been put forward BUT it still leaves one person lying and one telling the truth.... or both lying!

Once the second person has commented and its locked the first person can't reply if it's been locked.

Now i'm not sure if the forum software can do this but is it possible to have a hidden section to move the arguments to instead of locking them. I'm pretty sure Livefood had something like that but don't think you could reply in there.
Once it's been moved the link is left in the original forum with the 'moved' link and the only people who can access that particular topic are the ones who have been involved in it. That would also leave the mods the ability to delete posts that weren't directly involved effectively removing peoples access to that topic.

Jut think it might enable people to settle their differences on the topic and for the truth to actually come out instead of 2 different sides of the story followed by a padlock.

Why dont you just start/host your own "flame forum" I thought about doing this awhile back...I dunno, call it Meko's Madhouse?! or something along those soft a** lines. Stick a link up on the popular forums, and away you flame. I am sure those inclined, would join in a jiffy...T.T.
