I think its great that the younger ones can use the forum, but on the other hand their parents are responsible for what they are viewing and who they are talking to so shouldn't be treated any different, especially if they cause caos to start with... But tbh, when a younger one on the forum asks a daft question its because they want to learn, not necessarily because they are stupid, so everyone should be treate with respect, regardless of age and all that jazz

It depends on the 16 year old. Some 16 year olds are adults, some are certainly not.

so true! i've seen 21-13 year olds that genuinely try and much older folks that are slack... i enjoy helping or giving an opinion to someone truly interested in herps rather than someone that wants an accessory..

I think its a good idea because say for instance if they were trying to buy something on the classifieds, its good to know the age before hand as you may not do the deal without parental permission or at all.
Plus as mentioned before sometimes people under 16 post things that result in them getting alot of grief but if the age is known then atleast you can decide based on that what to post and how to word things

Yes, you can and you do behave like one. There are one or two 13-15 year olds on here who can't be treated as adults as their behaviour is anything but.

As to parental control. I wonder where some of the parents are when some of these users are on here at 2am on a school night. (nothing to do with me I know, just wonder if they know or not)

It isn't so much about treating people like a child or an adult more about how you would answer the same question to a 10 year old and an adult.

Some people on here are quick to be quite abrupt, harsh or sarcastic. I just hope they would be a tad more careful if they knew they were talking to a child.

I don't suppose it could be done without upsetting people but I just don't see why people can't provide basic details about themselves such as sex and age so you have half a clue whom you are "talking" to

well im 15 but feel like im mature enough to view understand and handle what happens on the forum at the end of the day imo if you wanna know our age just ask instead of labeling it up by us maybe everyone should have their ages labled publicly up by the post count not just us youths ...i apologise if that was the plan but i was gonna reply the otherday but i completely forgot to lol
