How do i make a picture small enough to be used as an avatar ?

I've tried a few different things but nothing gets my pics small enough and clear enough to work

If you dont have any photo editting software, word is actually quite good. Open up the picture in paint, copy the section across to word, resize it there, and then copy back into paint and save... works pretty well ususally.

if not use photobucket there is an editing option there for resizing your pics , avatar is one of them

Easiest way is upload it to photobucket, you have the option of resizing automatically.

If not, open it in paint, do Ctrl + V (for stretch/skew) and change the size from 100% - 100% to about 35% - 35%.

2. Yeh, but it comes out all crappy in quality... as paint is crap. Word does a better job of resizing...
