The best thing to do is remember that this is a forum full of people from all walks of life, different attitudes, different interpretations of what they read or post.

It comes down to the old adage....

If you haven't got anything nice to say, say nothing.
Yes you have very good points here. I did wonder whether it might be workable or not. Trouble is, as with all public forums, there will always be some who will be too quick to judge others - I was just trying to think of a way to stop vulnerable ppl being put off using the forum.

The best thing they can do is ignore the 'nasty' replies, make sure they don't post anything that is 'nasty' and don't get involved in arguements.

The best advice for everyone is;

Not everyone knows it all, you might think you are right, but what works for you might not work for someone else, so respect other peoples point of view.

I think that's a great idea but maybe restrict it to members who are under 16. Since the date of birth is required to register, it should be a simple matter for t-bo to add it.

The problem with that is there would be a lot of people would ignore any sound advice they offer. You know what some people are like....

'Oh, it's just a kid, they don't know what they are talking about'

Which is true in some cases, but there are a lot of 'kids' on here who know just as much, if not more, than a lot of the adults.
