possibly but if a lot of people use freecycle anyway sticking it on here is easier if you're already on. It could be really busy as people usually bin stuff, take it to the charity shop or freecycle it anyway.

I've been using Freecycle for about a year, all my turt tanks have come from there, and I've had so many I ended up giving quite a few away! Also got rid of lots of stuff that I didn't want.
The thing is, the reason Freecycle works so well is that the groups are local, so when you see something you want you know it won't be far to go and pick it up. Whereas this forum is national (or international in a few cases) so stuff could be anywhere, and you know what it's like from the Classifieds section, the thing you want is always at the other end of the country! As soon as you have to start paying postage, and the person giving the item away has to spend time packing it and taking it to the Post Office, the whole concept of "free" is lost. |
