Default Pretty wild frog

I found this frog today under a piece of wood in the garden. He seemed fairly alert and was not partially buried or anything, he was just sitting there. He was very lively in my hands, and was vocal too. I love the lime green and pink on his body.

He seemed like a boy! I know nothing about amphibians really but he did seem like a friendly, and hardy kind of character. Sitting out the winter exposed and vocalising in my hand. And he didn't seem sick or anything as an explanation for why he wasn't hibernating very well. And it is freezing outside. Its a snail graveyard- one species where you can see winter is deadly because the shells are left behind. Is the nuptial pad that dark brown thing shaped like another toe?
