Default My Hippo Frog

My Budgett's Frog(Lepidobatrachus laevis), along with its wide comical face,
has a body that seems entirely too large for its legs and I love to watch he rises to his full height
to take breaths through.

The frog crams his mouth with physical clumsiness.
These characteristics have led to another common name, it is also called the "hippo frog".
This is an adorable looking frog.
But cute though it is, it will not hesitate to bite.

I love him.
Beautiful things budgetts.
They always seem to be in really bog standard set-ups though.
Do they like it that way?

some people keep them in shallow water
but you can't watch their moving enough in there
In deep water, they have to go to the surface of the water to breathe
They also good at swimming
I fully recommend to keep them in such depth
I don't think you keep in bog set-up
They are not like horned frogs

bog standard! as in basic! haha
They always look like they haven't got any substrate/gravel/sand or w/e, or much in the way of decoration.

I use a filter
so such substrate could get block in it
I like a bare tank with some water plants
It's easy to clean up as well(Frog's poop is quite much)

I keep mine in a interpet fishpod with just a pump filter and hide. Its not a good idea putting gravel in as there is a very large chance it will get pulled in to the "blackhole" as she's trying to cramb in what ever she's trying to eat at the time, plus not the cleanest creatures so cleanings easier too. River pebbles would be ok as long as they are bigger then the mouth
