Default Whites with a dodgy eye!!??!!

Hi All,

One of our whites seems to be a bit poorly. She constantly has one eye closed and sits there all day (and night!) doing nothing at all.

She has also stayed a bright turquoise colour for a few days whereas the other have all changed and gone browny/red colours.

Any ideas what might be wrong with her eye e.t.c?

Cheers
Rob

Can you see any damage to the eye? Is the eye sunken?

Hiya,

I cant see any obvious damage she just seems to have it shut, her chin seems saggy and she just looks unwell.

She just looks like she has her eye shut. But she isnt feeding either!

One of my peacock frogs had trauma damage to one eye and did not move or eat for weeks unless I moved her,I force fed her twice but that was only after she had gone weeks without food. The eye has now almost healed and she is moving a feeding, she is still not back to normal but is getting better,I am not sure if she can see properly with that eye,but can see to feed ok.All I did was bathe it everyday with sterile water,so I hope you frog recovers soon.PS I kept mine on her own to reduce stress but if she continues to improve I will soon be putting her back with her friends.

Hi All,

A month after my Original Post about her bad eye and losing weight, Ivy passed away last night. Poor Leigh cried his eyes out cos he had been looking after her so well. We had her separated and trying desperately to get her to eat, even resorting to locking her in a cricket tub for an hour with loads of crix but she didnt have the strength to get up and catch one.

We tried our best and it is so disheartening to know that despite our efforts, nothing could be done for the little critter.

RIP IVY!
