I would say on of the larger terrestrial species, such as tinctorius, auratus or leucomeles, terribillis. I personally like the tinc morphs as they are very bold. Here is a very good care sheet which should hopefully answer your other questions

Keeping Dartfrogs - a knol by AJ Cann

Another reason why its good to start with the bigger morphs is they are able to eat slightly larger food than thumbnails.

Leucomeles is often recommended for noobies.

And they look like bumblebees.

Well sort of.

Leucs are a very good started frog, Auratus are good, but not as bold. Again, tincs are good, and a personal fave starter are tricolors- bold, active, and a wicked call.

Also, not sure if allowed to link, but join dendroworld.co.uk- should be able to find all the info you want there. Will post full setup reply, and post few pics of my setups when have more time to reply.

HTH.

hey hun, dartfrogs are a fascinating species to keep and pretty easy once youve sorted out their viv! (i.e. they dont really need any special heating or lighting - just massively high humidity)

Heres a pic of my dart frog viv and i hope it gives you some ideas, its a 60w x 60h x 45d exo terra viv
