Feuding Frogs
I was awoken in the early hours this morning by a commotion in the milk frog viv which up to now has been farly quiet community..
I found the two males - aged around 10 and 6 months - in a high state of excitement bellowing thier heads off and chasing each other in and out of the pool area. The young upstart (Bandit) appeared to trying to flip the elder one (Ernie) out of the water one moment and then trying to mount him the next.
It was fascinating to watch - never seen them so active or heard them so loud - it sounded like there was a sea lion in the bedroom.
I know that dart frogs and firebellied toads can scuffle over territory but has anyone else experienced this with milk frogs?
