if you do get one make SURE you get it from a pet shop or a decent place and pay the extra bit - as you get a warranty!

they are really good and look really pretty and provide fab humidity esp if you have them on a timer as i did but dont get a second hand one off ebay - ive had two now and within two months theyve both stopped working - one of which got all rusty and st!!

but yeah defo go for one their worth it if you get that year guarantee lol!!

no they are a small metal 'block' no bigger than 2" in diameter, you put them in 5cm of water and switch it on and it produces fogg. it is very important that your reps dont come into contact with the water tho as the membrane used to make the fog can cause them harm!! thats why the fogger is best used with one of the medium or large waterfalls as theres a special position for them in there and their completely sealed so your reps dont get to it

ill have a hunt see if i can find some pics of my waterfall with fog coming out for ya (before it broke cant stress not to buy off ebay enough!)

sorry the pic is so crp as it was taken on my phone before my viv re-vamp!

while i didnt have a waterfall in my green tree python viv i used a plastic cup with 5cm of water in it with the end of tights over the cup held on with an elastic band - that way the fog could get through and the snake couldnt get in lol!!

Ok so before you run out and purchase an exo terra fogger i might offer some advice which is open to all for thought...

Have a look on the internet for a company called Maplins first...

They are a hardware store and in their pond section are foggers of identical design, but, they are cheaper with cheaper replacement membranes and in my opinion last longer and are more efficient.
That said i would recommend you purchase one of the afformentioned hiding hoes for the fogger, or if you have a mesh top cage place the water trough ontop and the mist will, or should, sink through the mesh into your cage, nicely soaking all in it path. the reason for this is that the ultrasonics in the water directly above the membrane are highly disruptive and ultrasonics are commonly used as sterilising devices due to this fact.
Hope this helps?
