Default Found a newt !!

Hi
My husband found a newt today whilst he was at work and brought it back home to save it from getting squashed. Now we don't know what to do with it. Would it to be safe to put it in our garden?

Only asking cause I haven't got a clue what to do with the little fellow and I don't want it to come to any harm.
Can anyone advise me?

Thanks

try putting it somewhere back in the wild, neer water under some dead damp wood,if not ur garden an appropriate spot in ur local park,
they probly wont go into the water now its getting cold, but some woodland with plenty of insects to get ready for winter
i once met a guy who bred these along with all types of native reps to release in local parks in london

I would just release it into the garden or near a local pond. Ive got some in my garden and I live miles from a pond.

My advice would be to put it back near to where it was found as it obviously came from that area so you know for sure that it is suitable for it.
