Default POSSIBLE West Midland Reptile Show

Posted in snakes and lizards and then realised forgotten in here!

So would any of you be interested in attending a new reptile show in Kidderminster, West Midlands this summer. Its in its baby stages and this is market research, if its wanted enough it may just happen.

So opinions guys/gals. What would make it good? What should definitely be there? What would make it that little bit special? Which breeders/stalls would you love too see there?

I would definitely go if you had a few aphibian sellers. Most shows have very few amphibians forsale which is a real shame. suggets you set up a website with details of who is booked to attend and what they will have forsale. It is OK going to a show close to home on the of chance you might find something you want but for a long distance trip you need to know what is going to be there. It will take me 2 hours to get there.

Then who do you recommend? Im no amphibian keeper but Pollywog and Dartfrog are both close so i presume they will want tables. Any other breeders i should contact?

I think one of the best ways would be to advertise the fact that you are looking to do this on here and other similar forums ask about interest from breeders re: tables etc.

Have you researched any licences etc you would need to run this type of event? Have you a location in mind? What facilities are there? Parking? etc., I have never done anything like this, but I am aware that you would likely have to contact the local council to check if there were any specific things you would need (apart from ensuring the venue is covered by public liability insurance).

I think its a really good idea if you can get it up and running, and as I live close to Kidderminster, I would definately be interested... I have both snakes and 'phibs, and am also considering getting a leo or similar.

Have you contacted the local IHS group?? I am aware that there is one based locally that meets in Sedgley... I am probably going to their next meet if there is anything specific you would like me to ask?

Keep in touch and let me know how you are doing... J

Have a location with facilities we need but dont want to disclose it yet as we are just finalising the council side of it but all is looking very positive. This is more market research to see if theres a demand for it.

Im off to IHS meeting next Saturday as well so will meet you there probably, met Brian other day who runs it and the Rodbaston show so he's helping where possibly.
