When you say you bought it...does that mean you actually took something home without knowing anything about it and not having the right set up!?!

Sorry. I was just taken back by this...cant help but I will try and find some info for you.

Hmmm.

Try googling Kassina maculata.

Without a pic it's difficult to tell waht you've got.

Just hd a quick look at Marc Staniszewski's book. If it is K. maculata then he recommends heating to about 26 C during the day. Lower at night. and sphagnum as a substrate. Pollywog may be able to help.

Default Kassina Maculata

Have to chime in and state I have 2 of these wonderful frogs!! I am new here on the UK site but belong to the US version at herp center dot com. I have had my two girls for over a year and have had no problems. I keep the temps around 70F (not sure on the conversion) and the humidity around 40%. These frogs come from areas south of the Sahara desert. Kinda dry and moderate temps. A good misting 2 or 3 times a week keeps them happy. I feed mine medium sized crickets and am attempting red wiggler worms. I will post a few pictures for you to see. I find them totally fascinating as they walk rather than hop. I have had mine use me as a climbing post on several occassions and they seem to enjoy it. Have had only one escape in the time I've had them but easily found and returned to their habitat. I keep them in a 10G aquarium with a locked screen lid and a Repti-Glo 5.0 bulb. I have it on a timer so they get 12 hrs light / 12 hours dark on a dialy basis. I use fake plants and such as decoration and clean the cage about every 2 weeks. I keep a 4 inch saucer full of decholornated water for them to soak in. I change this as needed. I use eco-earth (compressed coconut husk fiber) as a substrate about 3 inches deep. They like to bury themselves during the 'day.' I have a small under tank heater on one side in case they want it a little warmer, it's only 10 watts but it's something (was used as a hermit crab tank heater yrs ago). Feel free to ask me anything about them as I know that caresheets are hard to find.
