Question red bellied toads and chinese fire newts

hi.

just wondered if anyone could give me any advice on viv's for red bellied toads and fire newts.

i see from some of the pics they only have a pond to swim in. and most of the viv is bracken and plants.

i was told by the shop that they only have to have stone and branches to climb out. is this true. they said that they can also live together in the same viv.

can any one help

Unfortunatly i cant help with the set up as i dont keep them ,but no you cant keep them together. DO a search on the amphibian section on mixing species and you;'ll see old posts ive made on the details of why

hello, both require similar but different tanks. fire bellied toads will from experience be better in a land tank with a large area of not too deep water ( basically a half and half tank) where as the newts will be better in a more aquatic tank. needing on a few stick and a small land area, depending on how they use the tank. but they will definetly swim alot more and be completely submerged more than the fire bellied toads.
i would personally agree with art gecko and wouldn't house them together .

I agree with the other posters here, I keep both species but in seperate tanks as the toads will harrass and try to eat the newts.

I keep my fire-bellied newts in a mainly aquatic set up with a small land area and a big chunk of java moss that they enjoy clinging to and climbing on.
I have found with these that when they are first introduced into the tank they will spend a week or so on land before eventually taking to the water.

I have a half and half set up for my toads.
