Default chinese fire bellied newts

hi there, just wondered if any one can help. one of my newts has a whitening of his front leg that is getting worse. he is not using it and is very lethargic. just wondered if anyone knows what it is and how to treat it.

If its growing/grown then its an advanced infection. As you said it was a whitening then it sounds like a fungal infection...but like human fungal infections theres lots of different types with lots of different treatments. Do you have any pics? I might be able to tell you more from that, I'd think about taking him/her to the vets but it definitely sounds like a fungal infection.
