Question what lighting:newt

iv got a paddeled tailed newt and i was wondering whats the highest uv/light can he have??

a 5% tube would be fine but being highly aquatic they dont really need it as UVB doesnt penetrate water very well but it wont do it any harm and may do some good.

It penetrates the water fine, if it didn't we wouldn't have coral reefs. The effectiveness of the length that the rays extend to is decreased over time; so make sure you buy a new one every 3-4 months.
